Revolymer uses two strategies for the synthesis of its proprietary polymers:
In this technique, two commercially available polymers are reacted together to form a new polymer having properties which are significantly different from the two starting materials. For instance, our new polymer for removable chewing gum, Rev7®, is made by this method with no process solvents, under relatively mild temperatures ranging from 30 to 160oC and with complete conservation of atoms representing the ultimate in what is currently called a green process. In this process there is no waste and no new contaminants are introduced into the product which can be made in a variety of physical forms.
Revolymer uses water to make its polymers; the video to the left describes this in more detail.
