Our History

Revolymer was founded on the technology developed by Professor Terence Cosgrove at The University of Bristol who had an idea about some novel polymers which could b readily made from existing polymers. Following entering a and winning a New Enterprise Competition run by The University of Bristol in 2005, Revolymer secured an initial seed funding of £750,000 from IPGroup plc and SULIS Seedcorn investment.

The Company also applied and was successful in obtaining a grant from the South West Regional Development association (SWRDA) which helped fund the development of the removable gum project

Whilst continuing research at Bristol, The Company entered into an agreement with Warwick International to lease an existing technical centre in Wales and was successful in obtaining a grant from the Welsh Assembly to develop and staff a technical facility in Wales.

In 2007, The Company raised £2m from IPGroup plc and Swarraton Partners and progressed to make the first prototype removable gum product which achieved world-wide press.

In 2008, the Company completed a £10m fund raising with new investors including Naxos Capital Management, Tudor and Sloane Robinson plus others including follow on investment from existing shareholders Swarraton Partners and IPGroup plc.

Today, The Company employs 30 people and has expanded its offering to coated bleach activators, cosmetics and a variety of coatings.
